One woman's life with Type 1 Diabetes

About me
I’m Michelle, a 44 year old working mum who has Type 1 Diabetes. I live with my husband, two kids and my dog in Devon, England. I was diagnosed out of the blue at 26 when I'd just moved to Australia.
Living with Type 1 Diabetes has its ups and downs. There are no breaks from it and more effort doesn’t necessarily lead to better results. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how to stay focused and motivated for the long term and how to overcome those times when I feel like I can’t be bothered and it feels like a drag. The things that have massively helped me are peer support through the diabetes online community, embracing diabetes technology to help me and realising that my mindset has a big impact on how I approach my diabetes.

I’m not a doctor though so please don’t treat anything I say as medical advice!

These are all my personal views.
